The Wausau 4000i-DT is a purpose-designed exterior window system engineered for behavioral care, psychiatric and other secure-environment facilities combining, robust safety, high performance and human-centric design. With a 4″ deep, thermally broken aluminum frame, the 4000i-DT meets rigorous impact-resistance requirements while preserving daylight, views, and architectural flexibility.
Its design supports both fixed and side-hinged in-swing casement configurations with optional between-glass blinds, delivering custodial ventilation, privacy, and a non-institutional yet secure aesthetic. The 4000i-DT is AAMA AW-120 rated for air, water, and structural performance, triple glazed and tested to withstand human-impact energy up to 2,000 foot-pounds, making it a reliable solution for behavioral health facilities, hospitals, secure residential care, and other demanding building environments.
With concealed hinges, tamper-resistant hardware, and glazing options tailored for security and durability, 4000i-DT windows offer design professionals a “safe, secure, and welcoming” window solution that balances occupant well-being, regulatory compliance, and long-term performance.
